Wedding Bells are Ringing in Lake Tahoe
Aunt J and Cousin Tyler
Originally uploaded by sweetdogk.

I'm headed for Lake Tahoe tomorrow. My cousin Tyler is getting married. This is his mom, my Aunt Jeanette. Most of the family will be gathered there for the weekend. I can't wait to meet his baby Dylan and see everyone. I'm going to try and post two pictures a day (not sure if I'll have Internet access until Monday though). Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

  Overheard

My co-worker and I were walking through downtown San Luis Obispo in the rain after spending several hours in our new virtual office - B'wichd when the following overheard occured:

KB: "I think I might have strained my back muscles doing tai-chi yesterday"

Co-worker: "What's tai-chi, isn't that a drink or something?"

  A hopeful morning
A hopeful morning
Originally uploaded by emdot.

This was me 24 hours ago. My friends and I spent the night glued to the TV. It was such a close race. We threw beanie babies at the TV every time they mentioned "Democracy Plaza" or added another red state on the ice. The mood in our living room shifted from hopeful and excited to grumpy and sad.

Today I'm hopeful that something good will come out of this and that our country will somehow move towards being more United than Divided.

  Election Day 2004

Wow, what an intense day. This is the most involved I've ever been in an election. I hate to admit it (no one really reads this anyway) but, this is the first time I've voted in a presidential election. Getting older and having a very politically charged boyfriend and best friend have caused me to get more into politics. It's fun to be able to enter a political conversation they are having and say, "Yeah, I heard about that"... instead of my usual..."Huh - Please explain."

Anyway, I voted first thing this morning and it felt great! Our little group - me, Bret, Mar, and Dan are gathering tonight to watch the states turn blue or red on TV and throw bean bags at the TV when too much red is showing. It feels so exciting to be involved and to actually have an opinion on the outcome.

I'm sure the excitement will diminish once the outcome is determined and it isn't what I want it to be. That's when I'll wish I was back to being ignorant.
